The Nordic countries impressed in the qualification events and six of their boxers will compete in the Paris Olympics
All of the three qualification events finished for all boxers and 240 pugilists have now the quotas for the Paris Olympics.

Their Nebil Ibrahim will represent Sweden at the men’s featherweight (57kg) after his bronze medal at the European Games.
Norway qualified a boxer last time to the Olympics in 1996 and after 28 years of hiatus, the country will have two athletes in Paris.
Sunniva Hofstad, the Youth World Champion, was highly expected to take a quota at the women’s middleweight (75kg) but Omar Shiha’s spot at the men’s super heavyweight (+92kg) was over their previous expectations.
Finland claimed two bronze medals in the recent two editions of the Olympic Games but their Mira Potkonen is overaged now and she retired from the active sport.
Finland’s new Olympian will be Pihla Kaivo-Oja, a European U22 medallist, who worked hard in the previous six years to accomplish her goal, a quota at the 2nd World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event. Another top Finnish girl, Vilma Viitanen was one step away for the quota but she lost to her Vietnamese opponent in the specific Box-off in Bangkok.
Denmark had one boxing quota at the London 2012 Olympics last time and their Nikolai Terteryan’s gold medal at the European Games meant that the country will return to the Olympic Games after 12 years of break.
