Billam-Smith aim to avenge and defend WBO World title

Chris Billam-Smith (19-1) will look to avenge his only loss of career when he defends his WBO World cruiserweight title in Cystal Palace football stadium on Saturday night.

Billam-Smith will face Richard Riakporhe (17-0). Riakporhe beat Billam-Smith on July 2019 in the fight for WBA Inter-Continental title. That time Riakporhe dropped Billam-Smith in seventh round and won via split decision.

“He’s a fighter so he’ll dig down in the fight and he’s not necessarily going to quit,” Billam-Smith said of his challenger, reports “Sky Sports”.

“But everything that comes with it, having that experience, how to deal with the big fights, how to deal with everything – I think that’ll come into play. For sure.”
