Billam-Smith defends title with a convincing points victory over Riakporhe

Britain’s Chris Billam-Smith (20-1) avenged his only loss in his professional boxing career. Billam-Smith on Saturday night (June 15) in “Selhurst Park” of Crystal Palace, defeated Richard Riakporhe (17-1) and defended WBO World cruiserweight title.

All three judges saw Billam-Smith as clear winner. Two scored the fight 115:112 in favor of Billam-Smith and one 116:111 also in favor of the champion.

For Billam-Smith was second title defense.

Billam-Smith had lost from Raikporhe in July 2019, that time via split decision.

“That was closer than I thought,” Billam-Smith told Sky Sports. “The right man won. Rich is a great fighter.”
