Mbili vs Derevyanchenko on August 17

French undefeated super-middleweight Christian Mbili (27-0, 23 KOs) will face Ukraine’s Sergiy Derevyanchenko (15-5) in a 10-rounder in Quebec City on August 17.

During the official press conference Mbili said that he wanted the experienced Derevyanchenko.

 “When ESPN offered us three names, I immediately told Marc: ‘We want Derevyanchenko,’” Mbilli said. “I’ve been following his career since I was 15. He defeated many elite boxers from the French team, but unfortunately turned professional when I moved up to seniors.”

Derevyanchenko fought three times for a world title.

He lost to Daniel Jacobs via split decision for vacant IBF World middleweight title on October 2018, then he lost close via unanimous decision from Gennadiy Golovkin for IBF and IBO World middleweight titles on October 2019. On September 2020 he was beaten via unanimous decision by Jermall Charlo for WBC World middleweight title.

His last Ukrainian won on April 20 this year beating Vaughn Alexander by unanimous decision.

In the undercard of co-promoted show by Top Rank and Eye of the Tiger, Arslanbek Makhmudov (19-1) will be up against Italian Guido Vianello in a 10 rounder.
