Teofimo Lopez dominates against Claggett, defends WBO title

Teofimo Lopez (21-1) dominated against Canada’s Steve Claggett (38-8-2) and defended the WBO World super-lightweight title on Saturday night (June 29) in Miami.

Lopez won by unanimous decision. Two of judges scored the fight 120:108 and one 119:109, all in favor of Lopez.

For Lopez was second title defense. After the fight Lopez challenged Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz (26-2-1), the WBA champion, for an unification bout.

Cruz will defend title on August 3 against Jose Valenzuela.
