Stevenson with dominant victory against Harutyunyan, Conceicao upsets Foster
Shakur Stevenson (22-0) defended his WBC World lightweight title with a clear unanimous decision victory over Germany’s Artem Harutyunyan (12-2).
Stevenson won via unanimous decision in the main event of the show held on Saturday night (July 6) in Newark, USA.
Judges scored the fight 116:112, 118:110 and 119:109 in favor of Stevenson.
After the fight Stevenson said he is ready to face everybody and he called IBF World champion Vasyl Lomachenko for unification fight.
In co-main event O’Shaquie Foster (22-3) suffered surprise defeat from Brazil’s Robson Conceicao (19-2-1) in the fight for WBC World super-featherweight title.
For Brazil’s Conceicao was the fourth time that he was fighting for the title and he finally won the title.
Conceicao won via split decision. Two judges saw him as winner (116:112 and 115:113) and one saw Foster as winner (116:112). Foster after the fight said that he saw himself as clear winner and was surprised with decision of judges.
