Pena vs. Hanabusa for WBO Inter-Continental on September 14

Unbeaten super-featherweight Angelo Pena (9-0) will have a major title fight on September 14 in “Mobiliar Arena” in Bern.

Pena will face Japan’s Hiroki Hanabusa (13-2-5) for WBO Inter-Continental super-featherweight title.

It’s the first time in many years that a WBO title fight will take place in Switzerland.

“I’m very pleased that after a long time finally will be a WBO title fight in Switzerland”, said Istvan Kovacs, Vice-President of WBO and former Olympic and World champion.

Pena last fought on March this year beating on points Brazilian Eduardo Costa Do Nascimento. He won IBO Continental title last year.

Pena is preparing in Las Vegas for the upcoming fight.

A win over Hanabusa will put Pena in Top 15 in WBO ranking.

“With a victory Angelo will not only make a big step in his career but will write also a piece of sport history in Switzerland”, said promoter Leander Strupler.
