Cape Verde’s David Pina was the main sensation at the Paris Olympics today

Cape Verde’s David Pina caused one of the main sensations in the fourth competition day at the Paris Olympics but Billal Bennama and Croatia’s Gabrijel Veocic also won their tough meetings.

Croatia’s Gabrijel Veocic had a seriously tough Round of 16 contest at the light heavyweight (80kg) against Jordan’s Hussein Iashaish who competed in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo as well. The Croatian found the best fighting distance and his stamina was also enough to beat Jordan’s No.1 in Paris.

Bulgaria’s Stanimira Petrova, the former World Champion, invested a lot of extra work in the gym to be in top shape in Paris and she used the best strategy against another World Champion, Huang Hsiao Wen of Chinese Taipei at the women’s bantamweight (54kg)

Dominican Republic’s Yunior Alcantara had excellent speed in his bout at the flyweight (51kg) and he dominated it against Azerbaijan’s Nijat Huseynov. Spain’s Rafael Lozano Serrano and Zambia’s African Champion Patrick Chinyemba also impressed in the smallest weight class in Paris today.
