Belgian Star Official to Officiate His 500th WBC Title Fight in Ukraine

Belgian star official Daniel Van de Wiele will officiate his 500th WBC title fight in Ukraine this weekend. He will be in charge of the fight between Serhii Radchenko and Andrej Pesic for vacant WBC Silver bridgerweight title. Van de Wiele’s journey with the WBC began in April 1988 with a WBC International fight. Four years later, in 1992, he officiated his first world title fight in Italy (Galvano vs. Gimenez) in Marino near Rome. In 1993, he became a member of the WBC ratings committee and has attended 31 conventions since.

Van de Wiele expressed his gratitude, saying, “I have to thank Mauro Betti, Houcine Houichi, Rex Walker, Misty, Malte Mueller, Mike George, Mr. Laptev/Marina Milovanova, Kevin Noone, and Alberto Guerra for their continuous support in my fantastic career.”

We wish Mr. Van de Wiele good luck and hope he officiates another 500 WBC title fights.
