Makhmudov against Vianello this weekend in Canada

Heavyweight Arslanbek “Lion” Makhmudov (19-1, 18 KOs) will have a tough test this weekend in Quebec City, Canada.

He will be up against hard hitting Italian Guido Vianello (12-2-1, 10 KOs).

The fight will be a 10-rounder.

It will be in undercard of the event that will be headlined by the fight between Christian Mbili (27-0) and Sergiy Derevyanchenko (15-5) for WBC Continental Americas super-middleweight title.

For Makhmudov will be the second fight this year. In May he stopped Miljan Rovcanin of Serbia in second round.

For Vianello is third fight this year. He last fought in April loosing via split decision from Efe Ajagba in the fight for WBC Silver title.

Makhmudov said that he is not counting on a knockout victory against Vianello.

“I never can say that,” Makhmudov told Sky Sports. “I always have one goal, to destroy him, anyone who comes against me. This is what I want to do, inshallah, and we will see.

“I don’t know what he’s going to do, but he fights more like a typical amateur fighter. He has very good footwork and a good jab, so we’re going to do something to win.”
