The registrations for the traditional Tammer Tournament are still open
Finland will be very active in the boxing map during the upcoming weeks, their traditional and prestigious Tammer Tournament will take place in Tampere on October 9-14.
There are several competitions after the Paris Olympic Games in Finland, firstly the new edition of the Ruska Tournament will be held in Lapland’s capital in Rovaniemi, North Finland on September 19-23, secondly the 44th Tammer Tournament in Tampere.
The Pyynikki Sport Hall is the venue of the Tammer Tournament as in the recent years and maximum eight boxers will be able to participate in each weight class due to the limited number of three competition days.
The women boxers can participate in their six Olympic weight categories such as 50kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 66kg and 75kg.
The men weight classes in the event will be also the Olympic divisions as the 51kg, 57kg, 63.5kg, 71kg, 80kg, 92kg and +92kg.
The Tammer Tournament was launched in 1977 and the city of Tampere hosted the Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships in 1993. Tampere was the host of the 2000 edition of the European Men’s Elite Boxing Championships and qualification events.
Finland’s excellent boxing duo such as the Paris Olympian Pihla Kaivo-Oja and Vilma Viitanen both earned gold medals in the 2023 edition of the Tammer Tournament after beating their English rivals.

October 10, 19:30 – Technical Meeting at Hotel Scandic Rosendahl
October 10, 20:00 – Official Draw at Hotel Scandic Rosendahl
October 11, 14:00 & 18:00 – Day1 competition
October 12, 12:00 & 17:00 – Day2 competition
October 13, 14:00 – Day3 competition with the finals
October 14 – Departure of the delegations
