Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Iran shined in Al Ain on Day3

Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Iran shined in the third competition day at the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Al Ain today.

Al Ain is a historic oasis city in the UAE near to the boarder of Oman and welcomes the best talents from the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 age groups.

India’s promising Sahil Duhan eliminated Chinese Taipei’s Chen Po Yen in the first bout at the lightweight (60kg) winning all of the three rounds.

Kazakhstan’s Akzhurek Kalabay moved up one category since his last international appearance a few weeks ago but he started well against Turkmenistan’s Muhammet Nazarov. Kalabay had some difficulties in the second round but he had the strong technical skills against the Turkmen Junior National Champion to win this lightweight (60kg) bout.

Kazakhstan’s Kenessaryamir Marzhikpayev follows the family traditions and after his participation at the Children of Asia Games, he received the right to compete in Al Ain as well. The Kazakh ruled the middle of the ring against Jordan’s Akram Zeadeh and he used in-fighting style of boxing during their preliminary battle successfully in the second and third rounds to win this tight bout.

Mongolia’s promising Tamir Davaajav had a brave attempt in the first round to be quicker than Uzbekistan’s Children of Asia Games winner Diyorbek Murodilloyev but that mission was a very hard task for the youngster. The Uzbek stepped into the gas in the beginning of the second round and he had the strength to win their light middleweight (70kg) preliminary bout by RSC.

Ukraine’s Matvii Savenko moved forward from the first seconds but Iran’s Ashkan Hashemi had the right responses and the Persian won their meeting today which was the opening bout of the evening session.

Iran’s defending ASBC Asian Junior Champion, Mohammad Saleh Mesbahi Rouzbahani moved up to the light middleweight (70kg) but he fully controlled his contest against Jordan’s Zaid Besah in the Round of 16.
