Schoolboys talents from the city of Kharkiv were fantastic in Al Ain today

Boxers from the city of Kharkiv proved outstanding performance in the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Al Ain, UAE on Day5.

Kazakhstan’s Adiyat Marzhikpayev is proud of his boxing family which has more generations in his homeland. The 14-year-old Kazakh was not enough shape against Agarzandan Batkhuyag in the first round and the Mongolian surprised him with effective combinations and eliminated the Kazakh talent.

Kazakhstan’s Nurislam Ongalbek controlled the first round against the quick Indian, Lakshay Budhwar and he had the advantage in all of the judges’ scorecards in the last 52kg quarter-final bout and he proved his potential for the gold medal.

India’s Naman Kumar decided his quarter-final very quickly against a local boy, United Arab Emirates’ Hazzaa Althabahi and he joined the last four.

Turkmenistan’s new hopeful, Ezbermuhammet Muratdurdyyev felt the tempo against Tajikistan’s Akbardzhon Abdulayev in the first round but his neighbouring rival had a comeback and he was lucky with the scores in the split decision victory.

Kazakhstan’s Junior National Champion Meirzhan Zhunis looked better than Ukraine’s Kyrylo Horbunov until the end of the second round but his opponent surprisingly turned back their quarter-final bout at the 58kg.

Ukraine’s Dalintin Lukianenko, the 14-year-old talent from Kharkiv, used his longer hands effectively against Iran’s Alisan Gharagozlou Khomeji and he managed his way to the semi-finals in the last bout at the 64kg weight class.

Ukraine’s next top boxer, Yunus Salikhov is also a Kharkiv-based boxer as Lukianenko and he eliminated one of the favourites as the 67kg weight class, Kazakhstan’s Nurassyl Orazali in a final-level contest.

Dmytro Kasianenko is another Ukrainian schoolboy in their national team who lives and trains in the Eastern part of the country in Kharkiv. Kasianenko kept the distance mostly against Iran’s Mohammad Akbar Soltani and he proved the next strong performance today.
