The Junior World Champions such as Mamatova and Mukhit won their quarter-finals easily

The Junior World Champions such as Sevara Mamatova and Aisulu Mukhit both won their contests easily at the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Al Ain, UAE on Day6.

India’s Junior World Champion Payal spends her second year in this age group but she is aiming for her first Asian title in Al Ain. The 16-year-old boxer was aggressive against Thailand’s newcomer Rommannee Tepindang and she had the advantage on strength and speed to won their meeting.

Ukraine’s European Junior Championships silver medallist Kira Makokhonenko was brilliant against Vietnam’s Vy Thuy Quynh and she will be facing with Payal in the semi-finals of the light flyweight (48kg).

Kazakhstan’s Zhamila Bolatbekkyzy was too strong and experienced for Sri Lanka’s Thiththagalla Gamage in the first quarter-final of the light bantamweight (52kg) in Al Ain and several of her teammates joined to the last four.

India’s Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari won the next contest for the guaranteed medal, she defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Bermet Omurbakiyeva in this weight class with aggressive style of boxing.

The Junior World Champions from 2023 such as Uzbekistan’s Sevara Mamatova (60kg) and Kazakhstan’s Aisulu Mukhit (66kg) both dominated their female quarter-finals in Al Ain today.

India’s Aakash Bhadwar and Kyrgyzstan’s Nursultan Duishonaliyev made a great show in the quarter-finals of men’s junior pinweight (46kg) today. The Kyrgyz surprised his Indian opponent in the first round with his speed but Bhadwar was able to change the rhythm in time to turn back their exciting quarter-final bout.

The Indian will now meet Ukraine’s Serhii Artemenko who walked over to the last four due his local opponent, Yousif Mohamed was unable to box today.

Uzbekistan’s Children of Asia Games winner Elyor Rustamov found the best attacking moments to land his jabs against Kazakhstan’s Aidos Ussenov and he won the last bout of the evening session.
