The best schoolgirls and schoolboys joined the finals in Al Ain

The final line-ups in the younger age group are confirmed at the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Al Ain, UAE on Day8.

Nischal Sharma showed her excellent performance in the previous round and she repeated that aggressive style of boxing in the semi-finals of the 37kg weight class today. Sharma was too strong and prepared for Mongolia’s Jargalmaa Erdenechimeg today and she became the third-in-a-row Indian finalist among the schoolgirls. She will be boxing for the title Ukraine’s Maria Matsiura who used her longer hands well against Kazakhstan’s Takhmina Almasbek.

Ukraine’s Asia Tkachenko and India’s Naitik produced a very similar first round therefore all of the questions were open after one and half minute of fight. Naitik had the stamina to win this 52kg semi-final and she will now face for the gold with Kazakhstan’s Arina Orazymbet.

The first schoolboy semi-finals were held between Tajikistan’s super quick Anushervon Sidigov and Mongolia’s Sukh-Erdene Buyanbat in Al Ain. The Tajik boy tried to gain the control in the first seconds and he was better in the exchanges throughout the three rounds to win this 33kg semi-final.

Sidigov can expect a hard final against Uzbekistan’s amazing Asilbek Rozumbayev who trains in the Bakhodir Jalolov Sports School and he eliminated his neighbour, Kazakhstan’s Ali Abdikamal.

Ukraine’s next semi-finalist was Nazarii Flinta who was not able to solve his mission today against Kyrgyzstan’s Rizvan Isayev at the 52kg weight class. The Kyrgyz will be fighting for the title with Kazakhstan’s Nurislam Ongalbek who turned back his semi-final against Iran’s Mahan Mohammadi Anjengesh.

India’s Lakhsay Balhara is one of the tallest competitors among the schoolboys and he had at least 15cm longer hands than Kyrgyzstan’s Temirlan Abytaliyev. Balhara will be boxing for the gold medal with Kazakhstan’s Abdimansur Zhaksylyk who had the early final and success against Uzbekistan’s Akhmadkhon Abdusattorov.
