IBF will not be on line in the fight between Cacace and Warrington

IBF World title will not be on line on Saturday night in London when Anthony Cacace (22-1) faces Josh Warrington (31-3-1) in Wembley.

The fight between Cacace and Warrington will be for IBO World super-featherweight title.

“Due to some confusion, the IBF wishes to clarify the status of the IBF Jr. Lightweight title concerning the upcoming Anthony Cacace vs. Josh Warrington bout,” IBF said for “WBN”.

IBF stated that Cacace was supposed to fight mandatory challenger Eduardo Nunez.

If Warrington wins then he will not take IBF belt, but in case Cacace wins then he will have to fight Nunez next.
Warrington was not happy with situation.

“Frustrated, disappointed. Yes I am. After being a two-time IBF featherweight world champion and having six world title fights with the IBF. Plenty of dosh being made in sanctioning fees”, Warrington said.

“I am disappointed I am not able to fight for this after being given the green light initially. They moved the goal posts at the last minute.”
