Cesar and Stott delighted the men’s semi-finals

The last men’s semi-finals concluded at the 2nd edition of the Enrique Rodriguez Cal Memorial Tournament in Mostoles today.

Hungary’s Soma Mester had a great finish in his quarter-final but he tried to start his semi-final better than last time. His opponent, Orlando Holley-Sotomi landed two powerful punches in the first round and despite the Hungarian attacks in the third, the Welsh boy advanced to the final of the middleweight (75kg).

Iceland’s Elmar Halldorsson won a historic elite contest for his homeland in the quarter-finals of the men’s middleweight (75kg) but he had a powerful rival, France’s Chadi Baraia in the last four. The referee counted the Icelandic boxer once in the first round but he was able to fight until the last gong

France’s Yojerlin Cesar was near to qualify for the Olympics but he had the strong motivation in the recent months to increase the intense of his trainings. The French No.1 was untouchable against England’s Oladimeji Shittu and he managed his pathway to the final of the light heavyweight (80kg) in Mostoles.

Kyle Shaw-Tullin kept the best fighting distance against Spain’s southpaw Oscar Angel Diaz in the second light heavyweight (80kg) semi-final. The referee counted the Spaniard in the second round and Shaw-Tullin made the show in their semi-final bout today.

Teagn Stott won several national events and international competitions in the recent four years and the 21-year-old boxer is now of the most progressed English boxers. Stott controlled the exchanges from the first seconds against Hungary’s Istvan Kreko and he won the semi-final of the cruiserweight (86kg) by large margin of difference.

Montenegro’s Youth World silver medallist Petar Lijesevic was not enough shape in the first round against Spain’s Ruben Ibanez but he returned to the contest with better punches in the second. The 22-year-old hope from Montenegro made a great finish in the last round and he joined the finals of the men’s cruiserweight (86kg).
