IBF orders final eliminator between Bakole and Kabayel
The IBF has ordered a final eliminator between Martin Bakole (21-0, 16 KOs) and Agit Kabayel (25-0, 17 KOs) to determine the mandatory challenger for Daniel Dubois’ world title, according to a report from talkSPORT. Both Bakole, ranked No.5, and Kabayel, ranked No.4, have been given a deadline to confirm their availability for the bout, setting the stage for what could be a pivotal clash in the heavyweight landscape.
In an official letter from IBF it’s outlined the need to fill vacant No.1 contender spot and provides both fighters three days to confirm participation.
If any declines then IBF will move them down the ranking and China’s Zhilei Zhang will be approached as next available contender.
IBF World heavyweight champion is Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs). He defended title against Anthony Joshua on September 21, stopping him in fifth round. It’s expected a rematch between them.
