Denzel Bermudez is Colombia’s new sensation
The Colombians made a fantastic session in the men’s youth part of the Boxam Youth-Junior-Schoolboys-Schoolgirls Tournament in La Nucia today.
Arzoo Velasco is only 15, she spends her first year among the junior boxers and she was not able to keep the same rhythm as England’s European Junior Champion Lilly Bassett in the women’s junior light flyweight (48kg) bout.
England’s Alfie Taylor-Satchell was very confident against Spain’s Iker Castrelo to win their junior meeting. Mexico’s Oliver Gurrola won the second junior light flyweight (48kg) bout, he bowed out Spain’s Mohamed Reda Fikri.
Georgia’s Beka Okruashvili used his previous international experiences to stop Spain’s Manuel Bueno at the junior bantamweight (54kg) today.
Mexico’s Gustavo Garcia had difficulties to maintain the best distance in the first round against Georgia’s Gigi Nonikashvili but he had the stamina to turn back this junior welterweight (66kg) contest.
Spain’s European Junior silver medallist Noelia Gutierrez was smaller than Mexico’s Valentina Polet Munoz but she had the aggressive style of boxing
Mexico’s Luz Adriana Canedo won her second contest in the event at the women’s youth flyweight (52kg) and she joined the finals. Her teammate, Evelyn Areli Hernandez overcame Colombia’s Evelin Liseth Mosquera in the attacks and she advanced to the final of the women’s youth bantamweight (54kg).
Mexico’s Jose Hernandez knocked out Spain’s Manuel Aguilera at the men’s youth featherweight (57kg) which was the second KO in the Boxam. Hector Daniel Carbajal was the next Mexican winner in the same weight class but Colombia’s Daniel Ramirez and France’s Sandro Spica both impressed again.
Romania’s Vasile Scalco was better in defensive skills than Spain’s Oscar Polo while his teammate, Istvan Szucs also won his battle today. Colombia’s Panamerican Youth Champion Denzel Gabriel Bermudez was brilliant once again and he stopped Mexico’s Hugo Yahir Barron while Spain’s Yolber Daniel Bandomo also proved his potential.
