Esmaeili and Mildzikhov subdued their rivals on Day1
The powerful super heavyweight boxers finished the last session of the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva with easy successes on Day1.
Morocco’s Douae Bouhrir and South Africa’s Amanda Kwanele Muiyakho did not save fuel for the later actions, they started the first round with energetic punches. The Moroccan lightweight (60kg) boxer had the better actions in the first round and she was punctual in this contest to join the last 16.
Armenia’s Andranik Martirosyan and Germany’s Dennis Balko both are technician boxers with good pedigree from the past. The Armenian lightweight (60kg) boxer landed a strong and decisive shots in the second round which finished their preliminary bout.
Bulgaria’s Viktorio Iliev is the defending European Youth Champion at the men’s lightweight (60kg) but he could not expect an easy contest against Romania’s Vasile Scalco. The ex-Ukrainian Scalco was a competitive opponent, he had a few good punches but Iliev’s counters determined the result of this preliminary.
Georgia’s Levan Demurovi claimed European medals in the recent years but he could not expect an easy battle against Iran’s Seyed Ali Akbar Mirahmadi at the opener of the light welterweight (63.5kg). The Iranian moved a lot on feet in the first and second rounds but he did not land enough shots to beat a such experienced boxer as Demurovi.
Armenia’s Rafayel Nersisyan competed in two European Championships during his career and the southpaw had enough experience to gain the control in the first round against Kyrgyzstan’s Oomatbek Belekbayev. The Kyrgyz was better minutes by minutes but he did not have enough time to turn back the Round of 64 contest at the light welterweight (63.5kg).
Moldova’s Artiom Tolstoi controlled the exchanges against Ghana’s Ayi Mensah Ankrah and he had simply better technical skills. The two powerful super heavyweight (+92kg) boxers, Iran’s Amir Esmaeili and Russia’s Batraz Mildzikhov both won their contests by RSC.
