Roganovic’s triumph and Ahmadov’s KO were the highlights of the second session in Budva

The host nation’s first boxer in action, Milos Roganovic won this opening bout at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva where Uzbekistan’s Akbar Ahmadov delivered the first KO.

Greece’s Anna Maria Tryfilli had great European achievements in the previous years but she had a tough opener against Turkey’s Yagmur Baltaci at the women’s minimumweight (48kg). The Greek was smarter in the second round than her rival and her brilliant tempo feeling delivered a 3:2 split success for Tryfilli.

Montenegro’s first boxer Milos Roganovic at the men’s welterweight (67kg) and he tried to dictate the tempo against Serbia’s Hristofer Dimitrov. His Serbian opponent moved forward more in the second round but Roganovic had the technical skills to win this encounter despite he has only 19 bouts in total.

Uzbekistan’s Akmaljon Isroilov made a remarkable opener against Poland’s Alan Figura at the cruiserweight (86kg) while his teammate, Akbar Ahmadov proved his strength immediately in the first round. Ahmadov had a lethal punch in the first round against Venezuela’s Anfernee Pacheco and his KO delighted the crowd.

Romania’s Arun Tudoroiu is a medal contender at the men’s welterweight (67kg) in Budva and he found the best rhythm against Lithuania’s Renat Krepstul in the second minute. The Romanian boxer landed heavy body shots which stopped his Baltic rival therefore Tudoroiu had a quick RSC triumph today.  

Israel’s Ariel Prilutsky had the experience from the previous championships to use the best strategy against Romania’s Gheorghe Buleu in their cruiserweight (86kg) contest. Bulgaria’s Stoyan Petrov was not only dominant against Moldova’s Zaur Azizov but the referee stopped their contest in the first round.

New Zealand’s Joshua Kaleb Tonga is a promising fighter and he had the excellent physical skills to beat Albania’s Leo Xhongoli at the light heavyweight (80kg). Kyrgyzstan’s Mukhammadaziz Zakirov and Romania’s Eduard Muset were the further winners in this weight category.
