The best 100 boxers remained in actions in Budva after Day8

All of the quarter-finals are concluded at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva, Montenegro and only the best 100 boxers remained in actions out of the participating 593.

Romania’s Amalia Tugui was the first winner of the evening session, she eliminated Poland’s Amelia Kostrzewa at the women’s welterweight (66kg). Her semi-final opponent will be Kazakhstan’s Uldana Taubay who controlled the next quarter-final against Russia’s Anastasia Gribanova.

Kazakhstan and Romania met twice in the women’s part of the evening session in Budva and both won the Central Asian boxing power. Panar Seitkhankyzy won against Elena Roxana Platon by RSC while the two-time Asian Youth Champion Shugyla Nalibay eliminated Romania’s No.1, Amalia Nita.

Turkey’ Dilara Sak used her powerful combinations to beat Tunisia’s Ala Talbi at the women’s middleweight (75kg) and she secured a medal in Budva. Her teammate, Havvanur Kethuda had the weight advantage against Poland’s Sandra Van der Zanden and her energetic punches delivered a stoppage in their heavyweight (+81kg) quarter-final.

Kazakhstan’s next brilliant performance was delivered by Beksultan Boranbek who had the world-class footwork to beat Russia’s Anatoliy Rebedyuk at the men’s flyweight (51kg). The Kazakh boxer was in shape, focused, he landed counter-punches from all of the possible angles and demoralized his opponent today.

Colombia’s Justin Munevar won his nation’s first medal in Budva following his tight success over Kyrgyzstan’s Momunaly Ybyraimankunov at the flyweight (51kg). The next medal contest in this weight class was won by Iran’s Mehdi Kazemi over his Afghan opponent, the tall Emal Hamdam.

Kazakhstan’s Zhanseri Kosherbayev has less experiences than many of his team members but he eliminated Turkmenistan’s Ysmayyl Gurbanberdiyev at the featherweight (57kg) today. The Kazakh will be meeting for the final with Uzbekistan’s Samandar Olimov who had a brilliant performance against Ireland’s Jamie Graham.
