History is in making – Mexico’s Valeria Amparan advanced to the finals

The first part of the semi-finals concluded at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Budva, Montenegro in the afternoon session when Mexico celebrated a historic female final in this level.

Mexico’s best female youth boxer, the 17-year-old Valeria Amparan found her best fighting distance and rhythm against Kazakhstan’s Anel Abdrasilova and she had a 4:1 advantage on the judges’ scorecards after one round. The Mexican increased the tempo and she stopped the Kazakh in the second which means she can box for the title with Uzbekistan’s Jasmin Tokhirova.

Russia’s Snezhana Kuznetsova spends her first year among the youth boxers but she was named as the favourite before the start of the championship. The 17-year-old southpaw was too smart for Serbia’s Nikolina Dzida and she won the one-sided semi-final therefore she will now face for the title of the women’s flyweight (52kg) with China’s Chen Yanfen.

China’s Wang Miqi and Turkey’s Pinar Benek will meet in the final of the women’s featherweight (57kg) and tough semi-finals were held also at the light welterweight (63kg) where DPR Korea’s Pak Sin A and Ireland’s Siofra Lawless succeeded today.

China’s Abudureyimu Alimire defeated Uzbekistan’s Oysha Toirova earlier this year and she had the strong performance once again to beat the three-time Asian Champion at the light middleweight (70kg). The 17-year-old Xinjiang-based Chinese had the stronger punches on their exciting re-match today and she needs only one further step to succeed.

Kazakhstan’s 17-year-old Aruzhan Zeinollayeva eliminated Poland’s defending European Youth Champion Julia Oles at the light heavyweight (81kg) which was the surprise of the afternoon session and she will now meet Uzbekistan’s Rukhshona Parpiyeva.

Kazakhstan’s four-time Asian Champion Torekhan Sabyrkhan showed some of his boxing skills and he bowed out China’s Zhang Haosheng easily at the welterweight (67kg) and his teammate, Sanzhar-Ali Begaliyev also succeeded today.
