Kazakhstan’s Yelyanur Turganova made a superb U-turn in the first final of the last competition day and she defeated IBA Neutral’s Carlagh Peake, reaching her career highlight with this gold medal at the flyweight (50kg).

France’s lone finalist in the competition, the European Youth Champion Maloe Teresi was not speedy enough to beat Russia’s Diana Sikstus in the battle of the 17-year-old boxers at the women’s bantamweight (54kg).

DPR Korea had two finalists in the women’s part of the competition and their Son Su Rim made an excellent finish to beat China’s Wu Yuting at the women’s lightweight (60kg) which is the nation’s first world title since 2018.

Ireland’s Kyla Doyle Byrne, who had a strong pedigree this year, was dominant in the first round against Kazakhstan’s Uldana Taubay and she destroyed her opponent in this welterweight (66kg) final.

China’s Bao Ziyi was too strong for IBA Neutral’s Nell McLaughlin at the women’s middleweight (75kg) and she earned their third titles while Turkey’s Havvanur Kethuda used her weight advantage well against Uzbekistan’s Sobirakhon Shakhobiddinova.

Kazakhstan’s Beksultan Boranbek played with Colombia’s Justin Munevar Moreno at the men’s flyweight (51kg) and he controlled all of the exchanges with brilliant punches. Uzbekistan’s Asian Youth Champion Samandar Olimov won the bout of the day against Cuba’s Yojander Fuentes at the men’s featherweight (57kg).

Uzbekistan’s new sensation, the 17-year-old Abdulaziz Jurakulov triumphed over Azerbaijan’s ex-Russian Ali Abdullayev in the next final which was stopped by the ringside doctor. Kazakhstan’s Asian No.1, Oner Seilkhan was too smart for Russia’s Aleksei Gukov and he won a chess game in Budva today.
