Tyson: On Friday my kids will see that their father’s pretty special

Mike Tyson’s (50-6, 44 KOs) las official match was on June 2005. But the Heavyweight legend says he is ready to make a winning return on Friday night in Arlington.

58-year-old will face YouTuber turned in professional boxer Jake Paul (10-1) in an 8 rounder on Friday.

“When I agreed to this fight and I started training, I said, ‘What the fuck was I thinking?’” Tyson admitted. “But now I’ve finished the process. The fight is the party. The hard work is done.” And then the man who once threatened to eat Lennox Lewis’ children reflected on the presence of his family in classic Tyson manner, simultaneously excessively self-effacing and oddly menacing.

“Family is everything,” he said. “To my children, I’m nothing. But on Friday they’re going to find out their father’s pretty fucking special.”

Paul says his mother was nervous watching Tyson throw punches, but that he assured her that all would be well.

“On Friday evening, you are going to see me outbox the man who’s been doing it his whole life,” he said. “It’s not about how long you’ve been doing something, it’s about how good you do it. I, Jake Joseph Paul, promise that I will knock out Mike Tyson on Friday.

There will be three world title fights in the event.

Katie Taylor (23-1) will face Amand Serrano (47-2-1). Fight will be for undisputed super-lightweight title.

Mario Barrios (29-2) will fight Abel Ramos (28-6-2 for WBC World welterweight title and Shadasia Green (14-1)  will be up against Melinda Watpool (7-0) for vacant WBO World super-middleweight title.
