Opetaia expected to defend title against Cinkara on January 8

IBF World cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia (26-0, 20 KOs) is expected to defend his title on January 8 against the mandatory challenger Huseyin Cinkara (22-0, 18 KOs).

Australian boxing broadcaster Ben Damon confirmed the news, reports “Boxing Scene”.

The fight will take place in Gold Coast Convention Center in Australia.

Opetaia defended his IBF title on October 12 stopping Jack Massey in round six.

Cinkara earned the right to fight for IBF title, after winning against Kosovan Armend Xhoxhaj in eliminator. He stopped Xhoxhaj in second round in the fight held on April 27.
