Bril, Ginkel and Putilov crowned at the 101st German National Championships

The 101st edition of the German National Boxing Championships finished with its excited female and male finals in Halle an der Saale.  

Altogether 43 women and 99 men boxers participated in the German Elite National Championships to decide the twenty-one available titles in Halle.

Canan Tas had the energetic performance to beat Fiona Wohlers and Ani Manukyan as well to earn the gold medal at the women’s featherweight (57kg).

Maria Siedaia switched from Ukraine to Germany and she is now a National Champion at the women’s light welterweight (63kg) while the favourite of the welterweight (66kg), the Youth World silver medallist Carlotta Schuenemann also earned a gold in Halle.

The multiple international tournament winner Leonie Mueller was dominant against another ex-Ukrainian boxer, Tetiana Petrovych at the light middleweight (70kg).

Miles Okay won the first male title in Halle, he had a tough battle against Francesco Messineo at the flyweight (51kg) and after that Omid Ahmadisafa (54kg), Ali Zamanov (57kg) and Razmik Sargsyan (60kg) won the further gold medals.

Denis Bril is the best talent in Germany’s boxing, the 20-year-old boxer was near also to qualify for the Paris Olympics through the Bangkok Qualifier. Bril defeated an experienced national team member, Assan Hansen in the final of the light welterweight (63.5kg).

A former World Championships competitor, Nick Bier, returned to the top of the podium at the welterweight (67kg) before their new light middleweight (71kg) sensation, Chukwuka Okah-Ezeokeke defeated Randy Botikali in the next key final.

The returning Oliver Ginkel defeated the two main favourites at the light heavyweight (80kg), Ammar Abduljabbar and Ben Ehis as well to earn the national title.

Valerij Walter (86kg) and Kevin Lebowski (92kg) achieved the next gold medals in Halle where the European U22 Champion Nikita Putilov defeated the Ulaanbaatar Box Cup winner Amin Younes Ouachou in the anticipated super heavyweight (+92kg) final.
