Kian Terwint is the new teenage sensation in the Netherlands
Sixteen final contests featured at the fourth and last competition day at the Netherlands National Championships in Den Haag.
The Dutch boxers have been preparing to the World Boxing’s Elite World Boxing Championships which will be held in Liverpool, England on September 4-14 in 2025.
Boxing by Kasap’s Tara Vogels won her contest in the third competition day and the youth talent defeated her next opponent as well, England’s Lehanna Smith in the women’s bantamweight (54kg) during the last competition day.
The best Dutch female talent, the U19 World Boxing Championships medallist Aaliyah Hoppema is only 17 but she has strong future expectations which she proved against England’s Tallulah Pulling.
Body Fit SC Kops’ Kris-Anne Mulder competed in several international tournaments in the neighbouring nations and she won the final of the women’s elite light middleweight (70kg) against Maetie Emeline by unanimous decision.
One of the teenage talents, the 18-year-old Kian Terwint was amazing in his final bout at the men’s featherweight (57kg), de defeated the more experienced Mahmoud Al Chabtoun with brilliant performance.
Curacao Boxing Association’s Fabian Williams, the competitor from the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event, was not able to repeat the same performance as in the last four and Maastricht’s Thijmen Kraak defeated him at the welterweight (67kg) final.
RBV Van’t Hof’s Jenairo Gomes is another young sensation in the Dutch national team, the teenager triumphed over Farshid Bos at the light middleweight (71kg) final bout.
Olympia 75’s Zekaria El-Haj had a great semi-final success at the elite middleweight (75kg) and the 26-year-old boxer was too strong also for the Kamikaze Warriors’ Abdel Sakr for the title bout.
Evan Nedd represented Aruba in several international events and the veteran boxer stopped Thuersten Winklaar in the final of the super heavyweight (+92kg), taking the Dutch national title in Den Haag.
