Tsutsumi stops Alvarado in WBA eliminator

Unbeaten Hayato Tsutsumi (6-0, 3 KOs) stopped former world champion Rene Alvarado (34-15) on December 31 in Tokyo and thus earned the right to fight for a world super-featherweight title.

Tsutsumi stopped Alvarado in round eight in the fight for WBA super-featherweight eliminator.

It was the main fight of the card held in New Year’s Eve in Tokyo.

Despite the cancelation of the main fight between Fernando Martinez and Kazuto Ioka for WBA title super-flyweight title the show went on and Tsutsumi – Alvarado fight was the headliner.
