The Mongolian Elite National Championships is underway with the participation of 173 boxers

The Mongolian Elite National Championships for their best women and men boxers is underway in their capital city in Ulaanbaatar.

The Mongolian Elite National Championships is a selection competition for the later actions in 2025 which will be another busy year for all of the boxers.

The Mongolians earned only two spots for the Paris Olympic Games in boxing therefore their management decided to arrange more events, training camps to prepare well to the next top events in the upcoming years.

Altogether 49 female and 124 male boxers are participating in the Mongolian Elite National Championships for the 17 available gold medals.

Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg, their World silver medallist, moved back to the minimumweight (48kg) for this event and the 30-year-old boxer enjoyed her start against a teenager, Lkham Tsendbaatar in the Nationals.

Young male talents such as Aldarkhishig Battulga and Otgonbayar Tuvshinzaya are the favourites in the smallest men’s weight category and both managed to beat their opponents in the National Championships.

The stars of the next men’s weight category, such as Dorjnyambuu Ganbold, the teenager Manal Tsendbaatar and Bilgunsaikhan Kharkhuu all managed their pathways to the quarter-finals in the Nationals.

The men’s lightweight (60kg) is one of the strongest categories in the Mongolian Elite National Championships. A top fight was held already in the Round of 16 when the younger Gantumur Lundaa eliminated the former Asian Champion Enkh-Amar Kharkhuu.

The World Elite bronze medallist Misheelt Battumur is looking for his best weight class and might be the 65kg is the long-term solution for him which he proved against Gandulam Mungun-Erdene.

Beknur Khali is Mongolia’s best super heavyweight boxer and the 31-year-old experienced hope joined the last four such as Batjargal Erdenebat, Yesukhei Batbaatar and Bat-Ochir Oyuntungalag.
