The Pirkka Tournament will feature for the 11-18 year-old talents in Tampere on May 10-11

The Pirkka Tournament will be held in Finland short after the Gee Bee Tournament on May 10-11 and the competition is for the U19, U17, U15 and even the U13 girls and boys.

The city of Tampere is the host of the Pirkka Tournament this May but the local Tampere Boxing Association will arrange the famous Tammer Tournament for the elite women and men boxers later this year.

Tampere hosted the 1993 edition of the Men’s World Boxing Championships and also the European Boxing Championships in the year of 2000.

Female and male boxers who were born in 2007 or in 2008 will be eligible to participate in the U19 part of the Pirkka Tournament.

The 2009 and the 2010 born boxers are able to the participate in the U17 competition in Tampere and they will compete in 23 weight categories.

The 2011 and 2012 age groups will have the right to compete in the U15 event while the youngest U13 talents will be the members of the 2013 and 2014 born boxers.

The closest accommodation possibilities to the venue are the Scandic Rosendahl and the Scandic Hämeenpuisto Hotels in Tampere.

The registrations for the Pirkka Tournament are open until April 4 and the participation fee is 35 EUR per boxers.
