The Golden Girl Box Cup opened with 76 exciting bouts in Boras

The next 15th edition of the strong Golden Girl Box Cup opened with 76 bouts in the city of Boras, Sweden today afternoon and evening.

The 15th Golden Girl Box Cup feature for all of the age groups including the elite, youth, junior and schoolgirls as well.

Sweden’s Norah Guzlander opened the first bout against Iceland’s 20-years-younger Hildur Kristin Loftsdottir at the bantamweight (54kg) in Boras. The Icelandic youngster had better defensive skills and she worked well enough against the local girl to win this contest.

England’s Jaya Kalsi is one of their top junior talents and the Boxam Tournament winner proved impressive performance against Brooke Mathews in her opener.

Hungary’s Laura Horvath is only 19 but she had better footwork in the first round than Germany’s Aleksandra Gogolewska and the teenager defeated her older rival at the women’s bantamweight (54kg).  

Denmark’s Alice Bennedbaek exceeded all of the expectations in her first contest in Boras and she eliminated Germany’s Lena Buecher, a more experienced opponent. The German was not able to keep the best fighting distance and the tall Danish won the bout by unanimous decision.

Sweden’s Lili Arman is their best youth talent who competed in the recent U19 World Boxing Championships as well. The 17-year-old talent worked hard against France’s Alicia Manlius and she won their meeting by unanimous decision.

Finland’s Teresa Maekinen competed in the last European Games in 2023 and the 21-year-old talent had some difficulties against England’s Alex Bryant in the first round but she switched into a higher tempo in time to win their featherweight (57kg) contest.

France’s European U22 Champion Romane Moulai moved down to the light flyweight (50kg) in the recent weeks and she demonstrated her technical superiority against England’s Catherine Chanter in a one-sided bout.

Germany’s Cologne Boxing World Cup winner Leonie Mueller was dominant against Sweden’s Alexandra Zhuvzhenko at the elite light middleweight (70kg).
