Angelsen, Moulai, Van der Toorn, Mueller and Hofstad were the stars of the evening session

The exciting gala part of the 15th Golden Girl Box Cup in Boras today and such stars as Madeleine Angelsen, Romane Moulai, Maud Van der Toorn, Leonie Mueller and Sunniva Hofstad won their bouts.

Hungary’s 10-times National Champion Szabina Szucs had longer reach than Finland’s 21-year-old Teresa Maekinen but her opponent landed the stronger shots today to win their featherweight (57kg) semi-final bout.

Netherlands’ Youth World Champion Maud Van der Toorn was near to qualify for the Paris Olympics at the age of 19. The super talented Dutch not only used her longer hands but she was successful in the attacks as well against Germany’s Albina Kasumi at the lightweight (60kg).

The UK-based Laura Akram was never stopped attacking against Sweden’s Jenny Lundberg and she deserved to win their lightweight (60kg) semi-final bout, landing huge number of combinations.

Hungary’s Diana Cifra and Spain’s Ana Gonzalez both were National Champions in their countries last year but the first dominated the first round with aggressive attacks. The 23-year-old Hungarian used her pressure throughout the three rounds to beat the Spaniard.

Norway’s Golden Girl, Madeleine Angelsen prepared hard to this competition and she showed her very best in all of the three rounds against Netherlands’ Tessa Von Stenus therefore she will meet for the title of the welterweight (66kg) Australia’s Shelby-Lee Wintle while Leonie Mueller and Sunniva Hofstad were also confident in the session.
