Jilkova, Myllymaeki, Szeleczki, Holden and Lynch were brilliant in the second session in Boras

The second busy session at the 15^th edition of the strong Golden Girl Box Cup delivered dozens of great female contests in Boras, Sweden.

Czechia’s Viktorie Losmanova had only a few contests in boxing but she had plenty of experience in kick-boxing. The 15-year-old talent impressed with her rhythm against England’s Lexie Williamson and she managed her pathway to the finals.

England’s multiple European Champion Lilly Bassett is one of the best girls in the junior age group and she stopped her Danish opponent, Tilde Faurhoj at the pinweight (46kg).

Sweden’s Lili Arman and England’s Lexi Phillips met in a tough semi-final at the youth lightweight (60kg) in Boras. The 17-year-old Swedish girl is their biggest female talent but Phillips was slightly better today than the local favourite.

Czechia’s European Junior Champion Viktorie Jilkova had a dangerous rival in the semi-finals, Netherlands’ Lindow U17 Tournament winner Liz Thijssen who joined the youth age group this January, but she used her reach well enough to win the bout.

Norway’s Francine Lukungu Ahadi is a very experienced boxer at the women’s minimumweight (48kg) but she suffered a loss to Finland’s Laura Myllymaeki therefore her opponent will meet Hungary’s Lilla Szeleczki in the final.

Spain’s Andrea Buelga eliminated England’s Karrera Jardine at the junior light bantamweight (52kg) and she will now meet Delilah Lambert in the final.

Norway’s Annabelle Bruun returned to the sport after a break and she was near to beat England’s Jay Dujon in a hectic semi-final but her opponent marched to the finals.

England’s Rihanna Holden had 32 bouts during her career and the 15-year-old proved that she is a top junior in the Golden Girl where she stopped her semi-final opponent in a quick light welterweight (63kg) contest

Australia’s Michelle Lynch landed her counter-punches against Norway’s Nora Steensen and she joined the finals of the elite featherweight (57kg) while England’s U19 World Champion Tiah Ayton was dominant on Day2.
