Surace vs. Munguia rematch is expected on May 3
Bruno Surace (26-0-2, 5 KOs) and Jaime Munguia (44-2, 35 KOs) are finalizing the deal for a May 3 rematch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The fight will take place on the card where Canelo Alvarez will face William Scull for undisputed super-middleweight title.
Surace stunned Munguia on December 16 last year, with a 6 round KO victory. ESPN rated it as “Upset of the Year”.
Munguia dropped Surace in second round on that fight, but Surace shocked the Mexican star with a big overhand right.
Munguia exercised the rematch clause, but in clause was no financial figure. Both teams are negotiating for the rematch but it’s expected to happen on May 3.
