The World Champion Robby Gonzales leads the USA Men’s Boxing Team in 2025

Following the selection of the USA Women’s Boxing Team rooster, their male squad is also revealed for the year of 2025.

The Head Coach Mr. Billy Walsh and the National Resident Coach Mr. Timothy Nolan have selected six strong US girls and seven boys for their elite national team in 2025.  

The Elite National Selection Camp was held in the United States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs between January 20 and February 18.

California’s Orlando Zamora is a 19-year-old talent at the 55kg weight class who won almost all of his contests in 2024 despite he was only a debutant in the elite age group.

Michigan’s teenage sensation, Thomas Covington was awarded the Most Outstanding Male Boxer Trophy at the 2024 USA National Boxing Championships which supported his access to the elite national team rooster.

New York’s Dustin Jimenez was almost born on the same day as Zamora but he is a more experienced boxer and he claimed several national titles since 2018.

Delaware’s Carlos Flowers will turn to 22 this April and following his silver medal at the 2024 USA National Boxing Championships, he had the top performance in the training camp to represent the US team at the 70kg weight class.

The Las Vegas-based Robby Gonzales is the biggest name in the US Elite Male Rooster, the 2021 World Champion was not able to qualify for the Paris Olympics but he did not give up his dreams.

New Jersey’s Malachi Georges defeated a teenager, Rishon Sims by RSC in the final of the 2024 USA National Boxing Championships and he was selected to the team at the 90kg.

Virginia’s Kelvin Watts is a native talent at the super heavyweight (+90kg) and he is ready to make his international debut in 2025.

The first participation of the men’s team will be the World Boxing Cup in Foz de Iguacu in Brazil in the end of March and beginning of April.

Their next competition, the USA Boxing International Open Tournament will be held in the Pueblo Convention Center in Pueblo, Colorado on April 13-19.
