The Ukrainians and Kollarova were brilliant in the women’s junior finals at the Dracula Open

The Ukrainians were the best nation in the women’s junior finals of the Dracula Open Tournament in Braila today afternoon but Slovakia’s Kaja Kollarova also amazed.

Oleksandra Mishchenko won the first women’s junior title contest, she was too strong for Romania’s Alexia Stoica. Maria Rafalska continued the winning path of the Ukrainians, she defeated Spain’s promising Amaya Herrero in the light flyweight (48kg) final.

Spain’s Andrea Buelga claimed already a silver medal in an international junior event earlier this year and she faced Slovakia’s Dominika Vnukova in the final of the flyweight (50kg). The Spanish southpaw moved forward without any stoppage but Vnukova was good enough from counter-attacking range to win this final.

Serbia’s lone female junior finalist, Natasa Lukic tried to keep Ukraine’s Yevanhelina Petruk on long in the first round of their light bantamweight (52kg) final. The Ukrainian turned up the heat in time to win their final bout in Braila and she continued her nation’s winning path.

Alessia Onofras used her longer hands to beat her teammate, Andreea Negoita and she won the battle at the bantamweight (54kg). Ukraine’s Yeva Soroka won the next close bout in the afternoon session, she triumphed over Romania’s Iasmina Moraru.

Slovakia’s Kaja Kollarova shocked Ukraine’s Yelyzaveta Asatova in the first round with her effective jabs from longer range. The Slovakian was confident and the referee counted the Ukrainian twice which guaranteed Kollarova’s clear success.

Ukraine’s Kateryna Moroz landed a lethal punch in the first round against Romania’s Adina Rotaru and her opponent’s ringside abandoned the final. Ksenia Kotsokhub also won her contest earlier than the final gong, she stopped her teammate Anna Hornostal at the welterweight (66kg).

Ukraine’s Vladyslava Nalyvaiko smashed Romania’s Maria Rosu in the next final but a local girl, Andreea Tapu (75kg) and Moldova’s Patricia Procopicin (80kg) also impressed in the women’s junior finals.
