Kosovo’s duo, Shpetim Bajoku and Bashkim Bajoku won the best finals at the Pavaresia Tournament

The 17^th edition of the Pavaresia Tournament was held in Prishtina, Kosovo where ten final contests delighted the home crowd.

Kosovo joined the Boxing Family only in 2011 but since then the small European country earned medals in various European Boxing Championships and one of the editions of the Women’s World Boxing Championships as well.

The Kosovans progressed strongly in boxing in the previous years and their current junior, youth and U22 teams have competitive pugilists.

The junior, the youth and the elite boxers were able to compete in the Pavaresia Tournament which was Kosovo’s first event in 2025.

Kosovo’s Ensar Badallaj won the lone junior contest in the Pavaresia Tournament, he stopped North Macedonia’s Omer Shaqiri at the light middleweight (70kg).

North Macedonia’s Erijon Saidi (67kg), Kosovo’s Taulant Hajrizi (71kg) and Albania’s Ahmed Koci (75kg) won the youth bouts in the exciting tournament.

The European Games competitor Bashkim Bajoku is one of the most developed Kosovan elite boxers in the national team and he was too strong for Bulgaria’s Latin Ivanov at the bantamweight (54kg).

His brother, Shpetim Bajoku is the most decorated elite male boxer in Kosovo and he competed at the welterweight (67kg) this time. The 24-year-old boxer controlled all of the three rounds against Albania’s Xhafer Kaza and he won the title of the Pavaresia Tournament once again.  

Albania’s Youth World Championships competitor Amar Koci is a teenage talent in their elite national squad and he had the fighting spirit to beat Ergys Toci at the elite light heavyweight (80kg).

Kosovo’s Arian Gashi became the best super heavyweight (+92kg) boxer in the Pavaresia Tournament who outpointed his teammate, Shpejtim Shabani in the final.    

Kosovo’s next event will be the Lah Nimani Youth Tournament in their capital city for the 2007 and the 2008 born boxers.
