Zaman, Arman, Bruun, Jokiaho, Angelsen, Frostholm, Abou Arab and the Olympian Ibrahim were the bests at the Nordic Boxing Championships

The Nordic Boxing Championships took place in Jessheim, Norway and three competition days have concluded to select the champions of the North.

Denmark became the best nation among the men’s elites, Norway topped the team standings in the women’s elite and youth male part of the competition. Sweden bagged the team title at the women’s youth part of the Nordic Boxing Championships in Jessheim.

Sweden’s Medina Zaman had already more than 30 contests in the women’s youth featherweight (57kg) and she worked well enough to beat Finland’s Janette Vilen in the final while her teammate, Lili Arman also succeeded in the youth lightweight (60kg).

Finland’s Eliar Kolomoichenko had a tough job against Norway’s Eldar Redzic at the men’s youth 65kg weight class but finally his hand was raised after the last gong. He had joined from the junior age group this January and he not only won the title in Jessheim but he earned the Best Youth Boxer Trophy as well.

Norway’s Annabelle Bruun returned to the competitions after a short break and the 24-year-old used her routine to beat Iceland’s teenager Eirika Nott Einarsdottir at the women’s 51kg final.

Finland’s European bronze medallist Emma Jokiaho defeated a young Norwegian, Jenny Simonsen at the 54kg while Sweden’s Jenny Lundberg succeeded against another local girl, Kristin Vollestad at the 57kg final.

Norway’s Golden Girl, Madeleine Angelsen (65kg), Francine Ahadi Lukungu (48kg) and Denmark’s veteran Ditte Frostholm (70kg) won the remaining women’s elite titles in Jessheim.

Denmark’s Abdallah Abou Arab became the Best Elite Male Boxer in Jessheim where he defeated Norway’s Alkhazur Magamadov at the 65kg. Sweden’s Olympian Nebil Ibrahim was too strong for all of his rivals at the men’s elite 55kg including Denmark’s Mishack Tusemererwe.
