Team GB will compete with 10 boxers at the Brazilian World Boxing Cup
Great Britain have selected four female and six male boxers to participate in the forthcoming Brazilian World Boxing Cup which will be held in Foz da Iguacu from March 30.
Liverpool will be the host of the World Elite Boxing Championships this September and their boxers have been preparing hard to achieve strong results in the most important event.
Lauren Mackie was silver medallist at the European U23 Championships and she has also an impressive youth career. The 20-year-old boxer will represent Team GB at the women’s 54kg weight class in Brazil.
Vivien Parsons moved ahead in the national ranking step by steps and she competed in various international events in Spain, Finland, UK, Sweden, Denmark and Germany as well.
The former European Junior Champion Elise Glynn moved up to the 60kg weight class and she decided to chase her Olympic dreams. She was near to qualify to the Paris Olympics through the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Events.
Sacha Hickey is one of the new icons in the female boxing team with impressive international records and she won most of her main events including the European U23 Championships.
Ellis Trowbridge has less than 50 bouts but he reached the level of the top boxers quickly to be one of the new aces in the GB Team. Patris Mughalzai received the right to compete in the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Events and he returns to the squad.
Odel Kamara (70kg) and Dimeji Shittu (80kg) both involved to the elite team in 2024 and they are in progressing stage to get more routines.
The European U23 silver medallist Isaac Okoh joined the national team in 2023 and he is one of the tallest boxers at the 90kg.
Damar Thomas achieved a gold medal at the 2022 edition of the European Youth Boxing Championships and he developed rapidly in physical skills.
