Belgium’s new event, the Brussels Capital Tournament will make its debut on April 24

Belgium reached several historic milestones in boxing in the recent four years and their officials decided to launch a new international event, the Brussels Capital Tournament.

Their Victor Schelstraete earned a bronze medal at the 2021 World Boxing Championships, Vasile Usturoi achieved gold at the 2022 European Boxing Championships while the Belgians took record number of three Olympic quotas for Paris.

The Brussels Capital Tournament will be held for the female and male elite boxers in the capital city of Belgium between April 24 and 28.

Australia, Belgium, France, India, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, have registered to the upcoming competition but there are still interest from other nations.

The women boxers will be able to compete in six various weight categories as the 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg and 65kg.

The men’s weight categories will be the 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg and +90kg.

The local transportation will be provided by the organizers and the team delegation hotel will be the Hotel Dulce in La Hulpe.

Before the first Brussels Capital Tournament, there will be an international pre-training camp at the National Trainings Center from April 10 until 23.

April 28 – Departure of the delegations
