The 20th edition of the Danas Pozniakas Youth Tournament finished with its excellent finals in Vilnius, Lithuania where Jakimova, Hoppema, the El Achi brothers, Ogorelica, Prohovskis and Abdulgamidov all won their titles.

The competition was named after Lithuania’s national boxing hero Mr. Danas Pozniakas who claimed gold medal at the Mexico 1968 Olympic Games

Lithuania’s European Junior bronze medallist Jelizaveta Jakimova had two strong challenges in Vilnius but she won both of that to take the women’s 54kg title.

Netherlands’ U19 World Championships silver medallist Aaliyah Hoppema controlled her women’s 65kg final against Lithuania’s Luka Vitkute from the first seconds.

Latvia’s Dmitrijs Klimovs won the first male title in Vilnius where his opponent Lithuania’s Deividas Sinkevicius abandoned the final in the second round.

France’s new sensation, Moussa El Achi had four victories at the men’s 60kg to take the gold medal and his performance against Latvia’s Nikolajs Zamjatins was spectacular. His brother, Aissa El Achi also defeated all of his rivals in easier way and he was also unstoppable for Lithuania’s Giedrius Bacianskas.

Norway had great youth talents in the recent three years and their Stefan Ogorelica won the strong 70kg final against Lithuania’s Kajus Bogusis while Poland’s Wojtek Jurowski and Norway’s Sviatoslav Mykytur also won titles in Vilnius.

Nikita Prohovskis is one of their top talents who earned medals in major championships as well but he had hard victories in the final stages over Lithuania’s Dovydas Vasiliauskas and Netherlands’ Bogdan Litavrin at the 80kg.

Germany’s Ahmed Abdulgamidov had a very difficult semi-final but after that he was able to beat another Polish talent, Maciej Klotzer, in more easier way, the referee stopped their +90kg final.
