Fantastic Polish girls in the semi-finals at the World Boxing Cup Brazil
The fantastic Polish girls delivered a sensational day at the World Boxing Cup Brazil in Foz do Iguacu during the first part of the semi-finals.
United States’ Yoseline Perez joined their elite national team in 2023 and after a few unexpected losses, she returned in top shape. The US bantamweight (54kg) boxer defeated one of the top Italians, Sirine Charaabi by split decision on Day4.
Poland’s Wiktoria Rogalinska is another emerging talent at the women’s 54kg weight class who used the best strategy against England’s teenager, Lauren Mackie.
The next Polish girl, Aneta Rygielska moved back successfully to the women’s 60kg weight class in the recent months. The European silver medallist had a tough opponent from England’s, Elise Glynn but she had the punctual attacks to join the finals.
Poland’s 19-year-old Kinga Krowka surprisingly won the first round of the 65kg semi-final against Chinese Taipei’s Olympic star Chen Nien Chin. The Polish teenager exceeded all of the expectations with her development and she caused the main surprise of the competition day.
England’s European U22 Champion Sacha Hickey expected one of her toughest contests in her entire career therefore she mobilized all of her power to beat United States’ Olympian Morelle McCane in a hectic semi-final.
Poland’s Barbara Marcinkowska had a difficult tactical job against Germany’s Leonie Mueller but she was better and better from minutes by minutes. The referee counted the Cologne Boxing World Cup winner German in the last round which guaranteed Marcinkowska’s success.
England’s Odel Kamara bowed out stars from his way at the men’s 70kg and he eliminated a US talent, Carlos Flowers as well. His teammate, Damar Thomas won the battle of the big guys over the new US super heavyweight boxer, Kelvin Watts on Day4.
