Tszyu returns with fourth round stoppage win over Spencer, calls out Thurman

Former WBO World super-welterweight champion Tim Tszyu (25-2, 18 KOs) stopped Joseph Spencer (19-2, 11 KOs) on Sunday in Newcastle, Australia and captured WBO Inter-Continental super-welterweight title.

Tszyu stopped Spencer in round four. For him was a return to winning ways after two consecutive losses. He lost to Sebastian Fundora via split decision on March 2024 and then he was stopped by Bakhram Murtazaliev in round three on October last year in the fight for IBF World super-welterweight title.

After the win Tszyu called out Keith Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs).

“Sign the contract, big boy. Sign the contract,” Tszyu said in his post-fight callout of Keith Thurman.

“If the fans want it, we can bring a mega-show to Australia. The boys at No Limit, you know who to contact, and we’ll do a big show here [in Australia].”
