Paris Olympians will be compete at the 43rd Gee Bee Tournament this week

The next 43rd edition of the Gee Bee Tournament will be held in Finland’s capital in Helsinki on April 9-14 and it is the highlight of the week.

Altogether 38 women and 82 men have registered to the Gee Bee Tournament from Australia, Belgium, Chinese Taipei, Czechia, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Wales.

Finland’s Paris Olympian Pihla Kaivo-Oja, Teresa Maekinen, the European bronze medallist Emma Jokiaho, and Krista Kovalainen are the best female boxers of the host country.

France’s Golden Girl Romane Moulai and Youth World silver medallist Sthelyne Grosy are also strong favourites in the Gee Bee Tournament. France’s brilliant Sandro Spica is only 19-year-old but he is the best talent in their men’s team with wonderful technical skills.

Australia’s Olympian Monique Suraci and Lekeisha Pergoliti are the bests in their female team but the 19-year-old Jacob Cassar, Yusuf Chothia and Shannan Davey is also in their line-ups in the men’s competition.

Netherlands’ national team boxers such as their biggest male talent, Kian Terwint, Mahmoud Al Chabtoun, Finn Bos, Jenairo Gomes and the Women’s Youth bronze medallist Gabriella Weerheim also involved to the squad.

Norway’s Golden Girl Madeleine Angelsen and their Paris Olympian Omar Shiha are also strengthening the Gee Bee Tournament in Helsinki.

Chinese Taipei’s Lai Chu En competed in the 2024 edition of the Gee Bee Tournament and the two-time Olympian will return to the event to switch his last year’s bronze into a gold.

Denmark’s returning Ditte Frostholm, Germany’s Silvio Schierle, Scotland’s trio Aaron Cullen, Isa Akram and Sonny Kerr, furthermore Sweden’s promising Hampus Broman and Kevin Scott are also boxers who need to be watched in Helsinki.
