Bank stops Scull in round 12, next expected world title fight
Danish prodigy Jacob Bank (18-0, 10 KOs) is very near a world title fight. Bank on Saturday night in Kolding, Denmark stopped former world champion William Scull (23-2, 9 KOs) in round twelve and defended his WBO Global super-middleweight title.
24-year-old dominated the fight and dropped Scull twice in round six and was clearly leading on cards of judges (110:97, 110:97, 110:97) until round twelve when he dropped Scull for the third time and referee stopped the fight. Bank now is challenger for WBO title.
Title became vacant and WBO ordered Diego Pacheco to fight Hamzah Sheeraz for the title. But Pacheco pulled out of the fight. So Sheeraz is looking new opponent and fight between Bank and Sheeraz for title can happen.
In co-main event Dina Thorslund (24-0, 9 KOs) won the WBC Interim World featherweight title, defeating Almudena Alvarez (7-4) via unanimous decision (100:90, 100:90 and 99:91). For Thorslund was first fight since October 2024 when she defended WBC and WBO bantamweight titles.
Oliver Zaren (19-0) stopped late substitute David Benitez (13-11) of Argentina in round two. Also stoppage win got Constantino Nanga, who made the debut for Primetime Boxing. Nanga (14-0) stopped Slovak Vladimir Belujsky (18-12-1) in round six.
Melissa Mortensen (9-0) defeated Tori-Ellis Willetts (7-2) by unanimous decision, and Pasquale Barile (13-4) defeated by unanimous decision Maher Khatib (4-1).
On the show fought also AGON heavyweight Carlos Castillo Rodriguez (10-0) who KO’d Gianmarco Cardillo (12-2-2) in round two.
