Munoz, Amadori, Walker, Vogels and Cabane were the best U17 and U19 boxers at the Golden Girl
Spain’s European U15 Champion Adriana Munoz, Italy’s Mira Amadori, England’s Lexie Walker, Netherlands’ Zoe Vogels and France’s Shanon Cabane were the bests in the U17 and U19 age groups in the finals of the 16th Golden Girl Box Cup in Boras, Sweden.
England’s top U15 girls such as Amelia Al Jahrani, Ava Sahota, Brogan Darrie, Margaret Doran, Miraya Ivanova, Savannah Kelly, Imogen Paylor and Ali Baldwin are all won their final contests in Boras today.
Summer Griggs is aiming for a place in England to compete at the European U17 Championships this year and she worked hard in the final against her teammate Ebony Isaacs to step closer to her dreams with a Golden Girl title.
England’s next U17 sensation, Ella Welland impressed in the previous rounds but she lost to Lily Green for the title of the 48kg.
Spain’s Adriana Munoz, the European U15 Champion, is new in the U17 age group but she made a remarkable performance in the final of the 50kg against Ireland’s Allana Barry which delivered for her a RSC victory.
Italy’s experienced Mira Amadori, Ireland’s Ella Archbold, England’s Ruby Dos Santos and Switzerland’s promising Aurore Paykov Vesselova won their U17 weight classes with top quality of boxing.
Spain’s Andrea Buelga Garcia started well against England’s Sienna Cox and she had a tight advantage on the scorecards after one round. Her English opponent turned up the heat in the second round and surprisingly Cox was able to win their U19 final bout.
France’s U19 talent, Nour Kapural Benyettou used her longer reach against England’s Jessie Chambers in the final of the 54kg to take the title. Her teammate, Shanon Cabane was dominant over England’s Aaliyah Seema at the 57kg weight category.
England’s Lexie Walker delivered another dominant performance against Norway’s Vilde Nostdal and she earned the title of the 60kg. Netherlands’ European U17 Champion Zoe Vogels moved a lot on feet and she won her first U19 event after beating Croatia’s Valeria Steko at the 65kg.
