Marie and Keoma made the Al Ahmadieh boxing family proud at the Boxam Tournament on Day1

Canada has a powerful Al Ahmadieh boxing family and both Marie and Keoma started strongly in the Boxam Elite Tournament in La Nucia, Alicante region, Spain today.

Thailand’s Natnicha Chongprongklang used her long-distance strategy against Spain’s Miren Delgado in her preliminary contest which was a great warmup for the 21-year-old Thai.

Thailand’s next Asian Champion, Punrawee Ruenros, and she had a super talented teenage opponent from France, the U19 star Maloe Teresi. The Thai determined her strength already in the first round and she deserved to win their 57kg preliminary bout.

Canada’s Marie Al Ahmadieh competed at the 2022 Youth World Championships and she returned to Spain after three and half years. The Canadian youngster overcame Spain’s Daniela Burgos in most of the attacks and she won her opener in La Nucia.

India’s Olympian Preeti and Prachi won their first meetings in the Boxam Tournament with confidence and their Priya also delivered a top performance in the day of the preliminaries. She controlled all of the three rounds against Canada’s Alessia Mansuetto and joined the next stage of the women’s 60kg.

Canada’s Keoma Al Ahmadieh claimed a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games and he has the full potential to reach another highlight this year based on his performance against Netherlands’ Mahmoud Al Chabtoun today.

India’s veteran Mohammed Hussamuddin has eight years of experience in the national team and he had a technician performance against Denmark’s Matias Mehmet Buyukdemir. India’s second strong 60kg boxer, Sachin eliminated Spain’s newcomer Brandon Chinea landing the stronger punches.

Kazakhstan’s World Champion Torekhan Sabyrkhan did not make any risk in his contest against Cape Verde’s Ailton Monteiro but he managed the pathway to the next round.
