Germany delivered a fantastic opener at the Strandja Memorial Tournament

Germany had a fantastic opener at the Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria on Day1 but further top nations shined in the first day of boxing.  

Armenia’s Rudolf Garboyan claimed several medals in various age groups at the European Championships and he looked too experienced for Turkmenistan’s newcomer, Resul Arslanov today.

The Armenian controlled all of the three rounds against the young Central Asian boxer, who was supported by the two-time Olympian Aliasker Bashirov in the ringside, and Garboyan marched to the next stage of boxing at the men’s 50kg.

Kazakhstan’s Baglan Kenzhibek robbed into the world of boxing one year ago when he claimed a gold medal at the Boxam Tournament in Spain. The Kazakh talent had the tactical and technical knowledge to surprise Azerbaijan’s Olympian Nijat Huseynov and Kenzhibek demonstrated his next level of upgrade today.

Azerbaijan’sZalimkhan Suleymanov knew the best strategy against Germany’s Ali El Sari in the first round and his attacking style of boxing paid off. The German used his counter-attacks and defensive skills better in the second and third rounds and he made a huge U-turn with a final success.

Brazil’s Kaian Reis had fantastic debut in the international events last year but the World Championships was not enough successful form him. The South American felt the tempo well against Romania’s Daniel Grigorie from the first seconds and he dominated his opener at the men’s 70kg.

The Mongolians arrived to Bulgaria in top shape and their Lundaa Gantumur found his way back to the winning path in his opener at the Strandja. The Mongolian overcame Kazakhstan’s former Asian Youth Champion Biybars Zheksen in the attacks and he eliminated a well-experienced opponent at the 60kg.

Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Erkinboyev also opened his campaign in the first day of boxing at the Strandja Memorial. The 20-year-old Uzbek was highly confident against Mongolia’s Dalai Ganzorig and he managed his pathway to the next stage of boxing.
