Oliveira, Khabibullayev and Brownlee made the show at the Strandja Trophy on Day5

Brazil’s Luiz Oliveira, Uzbekistan’s Turabek Khabibullayev and United States’ Lavant Brownlee proved their amazing skills in the fifth competition day at the 77th Strandja Trophy Tournament in Sofia today.

Azerbaijan’s Bilalhabasi Nazarov is a top talent in the 2007 age group and he is just a newcomer in the elite level of boxing. The young Azeri felt the tempo and the distance well against Armenia’s Rudolf Garboyan and he bagged a guaranteed medal in Sofia.

Brazil’s Luiz Gabriel Oliveira is not only a silver medallist from the recent World Boxing Championships but he is the star of the Strandja Trophy in Bulgaria. The Brazilian had a very talented US opponent on Day5, Salim Ellis-Bay but he managed to beat his opponent with long-distance strategy.

England’s William Hewitt has been preparing for the Commonwealth Games and the European Boxing Championships and he defeated Wales’ No.1, Owain Harris-Allan today, winning two out of the three rounds.

England’s next ace, Patris Mughalzai was not able to qualify for the Paris Olympics two years ago but he has been focusing to Los Angeles 2028. The 65kg boxer worked hard in all of the three rounds to beat Georgia’s Levan Demurovi in another hectic bout of the day.

Brazil’s Kaian Oliveira Reis has fantastic technical skills but he had to keep the full focus to beat Germany’s European bronze medallist veteran Magomed Schachidov in one of the tightest contests of the day.

United States’ Lavant Brownlee does not have the routine yet but he eliminated Kazakhstan’s Paris Olympian Mukhammedsabyr Bazarbay Uulu at the 70kg quarter-final with solid performance. His teammate, the 19-year-old Joseph Awinongya also exceeded his previous level to beat Kazakhstan’s Daulet Tulemissov at the 90kg.

Uzbekistan’s Asian Champion Turabek Khabibullayev and Brazil’s Isaias Ribeiro Filho faced in the final of the World Boxing Championships half year ago and the Central Asian No.1 was able to beat the South American once again in a superb bout.
